Prometheus
Prometheus is a graduated Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) project that is aimed at collecting metrics from various sources, such as Virtual Machines, Application Metrics, this would allow us to collect the metrics and monitor our resources over a period of time, it is also one of the oldest projects and widely used in the industry, a pioneer in this space. It comes with it’s own query language which allows us to make great visualizations in Grafana and gain insights into the system.
Exemplars (Experimental)
Exemplars allow to bring in tracing information outside of the metrics from a tracing backend allow to move from metrics -> Tracing from the grafana interface
