AWS IoT Events
AWS IoT Events is a monitoring service within Amazon Web Services that allows users to monitor and respond to events across fleets of IoT devices. AWS IoT Events is closed to new customers and is being discontinued.
Key points
- Closed to new customers as of May 20, 2025, with end of support on May 20, 2026 — after that date the AWS IoT Events console and resources are no longer accessible. Existing customers who signed up before the cutoff can keep using the service until then.
- AWS recommends migrating event-detection logic to AWS IoT Core rules combined with Amazon Cloudwatch alarms, or to AWS IoT Greengrass for edge-based event processing.
- Builds event monitoring applications in the AWS Cloud, accessible through the AWS IoT Events console.
- Detects events from IoT sensors such as temperature, motor voltage, motion detectors, and humidity.
- Helps create event logic using conditional statements and trigger alerts when an event occurs.
- Accepts data from many IoT sources: sensor devices, AWS IoT Core, and AWS IoT Analytics.
