The original layer follows the Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) syllabus; AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) adds the current AI/ML, generative-AI, responsible-AI, and AI-governance study path over the same service catalog. Start with Cloud Computing Concepts and AWS Global Infrastructure for cloud foundations or the AIF-C01 hub for the AI exam.
AI Practitioner focus
- Start with AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) for the live 2026 exam scope and domain map. Its service sections link back to the same notes in this folder rather than duplicating the Cloud Practitioner catalog.
- The AIF-C01 layer adds agentic AI/MCP, context and token economics, FM/RAG/prompt techniques, responsible AI, and AI-specific security/governance while retaining core AWS foundations.
Key points
- AWS sells infrastructure as metered services organised into the categories below; nearly every exam question is really asking you to pick the right service from the right category.
- Three cross-cutting notes explain most of the rest: AWS Shared Responsibility Model for who secures what, AWS Pricing and Billing for how it is charged, and AWS Well-Architected Framework for how a design is judged.
- Regional scoping matters constantly. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon Route 53 and Amazon CloudFront are global; most other services are per-Region, and a few such as Amazon Config must be configured in every Region you use.
