AWS Pricing Calculator is a free tool that lets users estimate the cost of Amazon Web Services resources before deploying them.

• Helps identify the lowest-price option across regions before committing to an architecture.
• Distinct from AWS Cost Explorer, which analyzes actual historical spend on resources already running — Pricing Calculator estimates cost before anything is provisioned.
• Usable without signing in to an AWS account; estimates can be organized into groups and shared with others via a link, and exported as CSV or PDF.
• Replaced the older AWS Simple Monthly Calculator (launched 2007) — AWS retired it on March 31, 2023 so that a single tool covers pricing exploration for all architectures; a one-time conversion path for old SMC estimates closed at the end of 2023.
